Located off of Choccolocco Road, Camp Lee is owned and operated by First United Methodist Church of Anniston. Purchased in 1966, it currently consists of 382 acres and can house 300 campers. The camp has been developed to provide a facility where those who seek Christ in an outdoor environment may do so, protected from the distractions of the urban community.

From the Desk of Kevin McDade, Camp Lee Director

We are pleased to announce the newest staff member at Camp Lee…Lee Mann! Lee will be serving in the role of Program and Operations Director at Camp Lee. He comes to us with a vast array of experience both in the areas of program and maintenance. Lee’s love for Christian camping ministry began as a counselor at SIFAT. He fell in love with the camp experience and expanded his camp skills repertoire by working at several other summer camps, especially building on his love for aquatic and waterfront activities. Lee’s most recent camping role was with the Girl Scouts of North Central Alabama where he served as the Maintenance and Program Specialist for four separate Girl Scout camps. In this position, he trained all lifeguards and waterfront staff, conducted ropes course and challenge course training for all staff, and was responsible for performing routine and specialty maintenance assignments throughout all four camps. In addition, he gained lots of experience scheduling for both summer and rental groups. Lee graduated from Jacksonville State University with a Major in Criminal Justice and a Minor in Homeland Security. He also completed his certification as an Emergency Medical Technician. While serving on several mission trips, Lee felt called to some type of missions ministry and recently made the connection of camp being a mission field in itself. His desire to serve in a Christian camping ministry is what drew him to Camp Lee. Lee grew up in the First United Methodist Church in Guntersville and his youth group was an integral part of his teenage life. Lee remembers coming to Camp Lee on a Jr. High Boy’s Retreat. In addition, Lee’s mom, Vicki Mann, serves as a United Methodist Minister in Guntersville! Please help us in welcoming Lee Mann to the Camp Lee family!

DIRECTIONS to Camp Lee

From I-20: Take Exit 188. From Atlanta, go right across the bridge. (From Birmingham, go left across bridge.) Continue straight to third red light. (Mapco on right corner, Chevron on opposite corner) Turn right onto Choccolocco Road. Camp Lee is 1.9 miles on the left.

From Gadsden and Jacksonville: Take Highway 431/21 and go south. Make left on Greenbrier Rd. There is a stop light for this turn. (Marie's Pool store on corner.) At 2nd stop light, make left onto Coleman Rd. (Shell gas station on corner) Coleman Road turns into Choccolocco Road at the second stop light. A Chevron station will be on left and a Mapco station will be on right corner. Continue straight and go 1.9 miles and you will see the Camp Lee entrance.
